According to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, it is a legal requirement for all employers to ensure their employees have received adequate health and safety training.
Information, instruction, training and supervision are necessary to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety at work of all employees.
All personnel must be properly trained to operate plant and machinery and be authorised to operate the same. All training must be documented and records kept. The easiest way for an employee to evidence they’ve received appropriate and adequate health and safety training is for them to carry, at all times, a recognisable personal registration card showing their training achievements.
